
OHIO — More than 21,000 homes and businesses across Ohio are currently without electricity Sunday morning, according to the latest outage data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the most recent update, 21,096 customers statewide are without power, representing about 0.39% of the more than 5.47 million customers tracked across Ohio.
Ohio currently has the second-highest number of power outages in the United States and ranks third nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.
Cuyahoga County is reporting the largest number of outages in the state, with 7,121 customers currently without electricity. Knox County is reporting 5,156 outages, followed by Franklin County with 3,905. Other counties reporting significant outages include Delaware County with 930 customers without power, Mahoning County with 455, Licking County with 424, Muskingum County with 402 and Morrow County with 359.
Among utility providers, American Electric Power Ohio is reporting the largest number of outages, with 11,737 customers currently without service. Cleveland Public Power reports 6,775 outages and has the highest percentage of customers affected among major utilities, with 9.2% of its customers without electricity. FirstEnergy is reporting 1,370 outages, while AES Ohio has 644 customers without power.
Utility crews continue working to restore service in affected areas across the state. Outage totals are expected to fluctuate as repairs are completed and new reports are received throughout the day.
