
OHIO — More than 5,500 customers across Ohio are without electricity Wednesday morning, according to data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the latest update, 5,500 homes and businesses are experiencing active power outages statewide out of more than 5.4 million tracked customers.
Cuyahoga County is reporting the highest number of outages in the state with 4,540 customers without power. Fairfield County is reporting 263 outages, followed by Tuscarawas County with 201, Lake County with 128, and Franklin County with 110.
Among utility providers, Cleveland Public Power is reporting the largest number of active outages with 4,413 customers affected. American Electric Power Ohio is reporting 374 outages, while FirstEnergy has 319 customers without power.
Officials say Ohio currently ranks third in the nation for the total number of active outages and fourth nationwide for the percentage of customers affected.
Utility crews continue working to restore electricity as outage numbers change throughout the morning.
