LOUISIANA — More than 2,000 customers across Louisiana are currently without electricity Saturday morning, according to the latest figures from PowerOutage.us.
As of the most recent update, approximately 2,109 homes and businesses are without power statewide, accounting for about 0.09% of the more than 2.3 million customers tracked. Louisiana currently ranks seventh in the nation for total outages and fourth for the percentage of customers affected.
The largest concentration of outages is in Rapides Parish, where more than 500 customers are currently without service.
Other areas experiencing outages include Livingston Parish with over 300 customers affected, East Baton Rouge Parish with more than 200, and Ascension and Calcasieu parishes with smaller but notable totals.
Among utility providers, Entergy is reporting the highest number of outages, with more than 1,300 customers without power. Cleco Power is also reporting several hundred outages, while additional scattered outages are being reported by other providers across the state.
Officials have not identified a single cause for the outages, which appear to be spread across multiple regions. Utility crews are actively working to restore service, and residents are encouraged to monitor updates from their local providers as restoration efforts continue.
