
ILLINOIS — Nearly 23,000 homes and businesses across Illinois are without power as of Saturday morning, according to the latest data from PowerOutage.us.
As of the most recent update, 22,798 customers were reported without electricity statewide, representing about 0.39% of the more than 5.8 million customers tracked.
Several counties are seeing the highest number of outages, with McLean County reporting 4,364 customers affected. Jo Daviess County follows with 3,537 outages, while Tazewell and Stephenson counties report 2,598 and 2,548 outages, respectively. Woodford County has more than 1,300 customers without power, with additional outages reported across multiple other counties.
Utility providers are also reporting widespread impacts. Ameren accounts for the largest share, with more than 13,000 customers affected. Commonwealth Edison Company reports over 7,600 outages, while smaller cooperatives and utilities are also experiencing service disruptions.
Illinois currently has the highest number of power outages in the nation and ranks among the most impacted states by percentage of customers affected.
Restoration efforts are ongoing, though officials have not provided a timeline for when all power will be restored. Residents are urged to report outages to their utility providers and use caution around downed power lines.
