Thousands without power in Georgia

GEORGIA — More than 2,300 homes and businesses across Georgia are currently without electricity Tuesday morning, according to PowerOutage.us.

As of the latest update, 2,360 customers are without power statewide out of more than 5.19 million customers tracked. Georgia currently ranks eighth in the nation for the total number of outages.

Henry County reports the largest number of outages in the state, with 631 customers currently without service. Terrell County follows with 591 outages, while Dooly County reports 289. Cherokee County has 126 customers without power, and Fulton County reports 87 outages.

By percentage of customers affected, Terrell County is among the hardest-hit areas, with 10.26% of tracked customers without electricity. Dooly County reports 3.36% of customers affected, while Henry County has 0.77% of customers without service.

Among utility providers, Georgia Power reports the largest number of outages, with 1,758 customers currently without electricity. Middle Georgia EMC reports 289 outages, followed by North Georgia EMC and Jackson EMC with 54 each. Satilla REMC reports 42 customers without power.

Statewide, about 0.05% of tracked electric customers are currently affected by outages.

Utility crews continue working to restore service across affected areas. Residents are encouraged to report outages directly to their electric provider and avoid downed power lines.

The outages are current as of Tuesday morning, and restoration efforts remain ongoing across Georgia.
