Thousands without power in Florida

FLORIDA — More than 2,600 customers across Florida are without power Tuesday morning, according to the latest data from PowerOutage.us.

As of the most recent update, 2,616 homes and businesses are without electricity statewide, representing about 0.02% of the nearly 11 million customers tracked. Florida ranked seventh in the nation for total outages but remained lower in overall percentage of customers affected.

Miami-Dade County reported the highest number of outages, with 562 customers without power. Okeechobee County followed with 313 outages, while Broward County reported 200. Additional outages were reported in Pinellas County with 189 and Alachua County with 158.

Among utility providers, Florida Power & Light Company reported the largest number of outages, with 1,550 customers affected. Duke Energy reported 520 outages, while Glades Electric Cooperative reported 319.

While the statewide outage percentage remains low, some smaller utilities are seeing higher impacts. Glades Electric Cooperative reported about 1.66% of its customers without power.

Crews are working to restore service, though no estimated restoration times have been provided.
