SOUTH CAROLINA — An Upstate man was arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop in Oconee County, according to authorities.
The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office said 40-year-old Blake Marvin Johnson, of Central, was taken into custody Friday evening after deputies conducted a traffic stop in Seneca. The stop occurred on West North 1st Street near South Oak Street for a traffic violation.
While speaking with Johnson, deputies learned his driving privileges had been suspended. Authorities said Johnson consented to a search of his vehicle.
During the search, deputies located drugs. Arrest warrants indicate approximately 1.08 grams of methamphetamine and about 4.1 grams of fentanyl were seized.
Further investigation revealed that a passenger in the vehicle, 37-year-old Jesse Ray Reams of Seneca, had an active warrant through the Pendleton Police Department. Reams was taken into custody and transported to Pendleton.
Johnson was charged with trafficking fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and driving under suspension. He was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center and given a combined bond of $30,647.50 following an initial court appearance.
The investigation remains ongoing.
