
NORTH CAROLINA — A Texas man was arrested Wednesday after investigators seized more than $16 million worth of methamphetamine during a multi-agency operation at a home in Raleigh, according to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
Authorities said agents and officers conducted the operation in Wake County and recovered 121.55 pounds, or 55 kilograms, of methamphetamine. The drugs have an estimated street value of $16.3 million.
Investigators arrested Jonathan Pena, 31, of Texas, following the seizure.
Pena has been charged with trafficking in methamphetamine by possession, trafficking in methamphetamine by transportation and conspiracy to traffic methamphetamine.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation said the operation involved multiple law enforcement agencies, though officials did not immediately release additional details about the investigation.
Authorities said the case remains under active investigation and additional information may be released as it becomes available.
