TENNESSEE — A Clarksville man wanted in connection with a 2025 homicide in Kentucky has been arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service.
According to the U.S. Marshals Service, members of the Middle Tennessee Fugitive Task Force took 28-year-old Avery Montell Bates into custody Wednesday at a residence on Faye Avenue in Clarksville.
Bates had been wanted on a murder charge stemming from the fatal shooting of Jaylin Glenn in Oak Grove, Kentucky, on Nov. 23, 2025.
Authorities said Oak Grove police responded to a shooting near Ooh La La Lounge and found Glenn suffering from a gunshot wound. Glenn was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators identified Bates as the suspected shooter during the homicide investigation. An arrest warrant charging him with murder was issued on Nov. 25, 2025.
The U.S. Marshals Service said a Nashville-based task force was working a collateral lead from the agency’s Western District of Kentucky office when Bates was located.
Bates was arrested without incident and booked into the Montgomery County Jail, where he is being held pending extradition to Kentucky.
Officials credited the Clarksville Police Department with assisting in the arrest.
