KENTUCKY — Agents with the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force seized methamphetamine and other drugs and arrested a Tennessee man following a vehicle chase Monday evening, according to authorities.
A press release from the task force said deputies with the Allen County Sheriff’s Office attempted to initiate a traffic stop around 6:10 p.m. along Holland Road as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation. The driver refused to stop and fled westbound, leading officers on a pursuit.
During the chase, authorities said a tire deflation device was deployed, but the suspect continued driving. Investigators said the driver struck an unmarked detective’s vehicle while fleeing through the city limits of Scottsville and also threw items from the vehicle during the pursuit.
Officials said the vehicle was eventually disabled on Briarfield. The driver, identified as 32-year-old Jordan Johnson of Tennessee, was taken into custody without further incident.
Following the arrest, a K-9-assisted search of the vehicle led to the discovery of what authorities described as a large amount of suspected methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl and marijuana. Investigators also searched areas along the pursuit route and reported finding additional methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Johnson faces multiple charges, including marijuana possession, tampering with physical evidence, importing fentanyl or related substances, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and being a persistent felony offender II.
The investigation remains ongoing.
