OHIO — Showers and thunderstorms are expected at times across parts of Ohio on Saturday, with isolated flooding and flash flooding possible, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters say periods of rain and thunderstorms are expected during the daytime hours. While widespread flooding is not anticipated, localized heavy rainfall could lead to isolated flooding issues, especially in areas that receive repeated downpours.

Heavy rain may reduce visibility for motorists and cause ponding of water on roadways, quick runoff and localized overland flooding.

Drivers are urged to use caution when traveling and never attempt to drive through flooded roadways. The National Weather Service reminds motorists to “Turn Around, Don’t Drown” when encountering flooded roads.

Residents are encouraged to monitor the latest forecasts throughout the day in case additional weather alerts are issued.
