Police searching for missing 16-year-old in Alabama

ALABAMA — The Dothan Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 16-year-old girl.

According to police, A’Myah Shorter was last seen by her family on April 14 around 6:25 p.m. at their home in the 500 block of Headland Avenue in Dothan.

Authorities said she was last seen wearing a black and red Chicago Bulls jacket, blue jeans and white and green shoes. She was also carrying a purple backpack and had her hair in a ponytail.

Shorter is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing approximately 200 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Investigators believe she may still be in the Dothan area.
