According to Gastonia Police, officers are on scene in the area of Airline Avenue and Pryor Street, where a subject has barricaded themselves. Authorities said the person is armed and the situation remains ongoing.
Police are urging residents and drivers to avoid the area while officers work to resolve the standoff. Several nearby streets have been shut down as a precaution, and the Erwin Park Community Center is expected to remain closed for the afternoon.
