TENNESSEE — Authorities are investigating a homicide after one person was found dead Friday morning in Carter County, according to Sheriff Mike Fraley.
A spokesperson for the Carter County Sheriff’s Office confirmed a homicide investigation is underway. One person has been confirmed dead.
The death occurred around 4 a.m. at a home on Earl McKinney Road in the Valley Forge area, according to the sheriff.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has been asked to assist with the case.
Officials have not released the identity of the victim or any information about a possible suspect.
Fraley said the investigation remains active and is still in its early stages. Investigators were continuing to process the scene late Friday morning.
