FLORIDA — A 15-year-old boy was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle Friday morning in St. Petersburg, according to police.
The St. Petersburg Police Department said the crash happened around 9:50 a.m. near the intersection of 9th Avenue North and 25th Street North. The area is close to St. Petersburg High School, though authorities have not confirmed whether the teen attends the school.
Police said the driver remained at the scene following the collision. Officials have not released details about the vehicle involved or what led up to the crash.
The teenager was taken to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital for treatment.
Drivers were advised to avoid the area while law enforcement investigated the incident.
The crash remains under investigation.
