SOUTH CAROLINA — An early morning crash has shut down all lanes of Interstate 85 northbound in Anderson County on Tuesday, according to officials.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) said the crash occurred near mile marker 9.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, where officials said two people were injured. The Townville Volunteer Fire Department reported that one person was airlifted to a hospital in Greenville, while another was transported by EMS.
Authorities said traffic is being diverted through a nearby weigh station before reentering I-85. Drivers are advised to expect delays in the area and consider using Highway 243 as an alternate route.
The cause of the crash has not been released, and the investigation remains ongoing.
