Part of I-81 in Pennsylvania shut down following vehicle crash

PENNSYLVANIA — A crash on the east end of the George N. Wade Memorial Bridge is causing major traffic problems on Interstate 81 northbound near Harrisburg Thursday evening.

According to traffic officials, the crash occurred at Exit 66 on the Harrisburg side of the Susquehanna River.

The middle and right lanes are currently blocked, with traffic only able to pass through the left lane. The backup has extended to the Wertzville Road exit as motorists experience significant delays.

Authorities have not released information on what caused the crash or whether anyone was injured.

Drivers traveling through the area are being urged to expect delays and seek alternate routes if possible.
