
OHIO — All lanes of Interstate 70 eastbound were shut down Tuesday afternoon due to downed wires, causing significant traffic delays in the area.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the closure is in effect beyond Snider Road. As of approximately 3:40 p.m., officials confirmed that crews from the Springfield post were on scene working to safely remove the wires.
Traffic was brought to a standstill as emergency crews worked to address the hazard. Images from the scene showed a long line of vehicles backed up along the interstate.
Authorities have not provided an estimated timeline for when the roadway will reopen.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until the situation is resolved.
