
NORTH CAROLINA — A tractor-trailer overturned on Interstate 40 in Johnston County on Thursday morning, spilling bags of potting soil across the roadway and causing significant traffic delays.
According to officials, the crash occurred on eastbound I-40 past Exit 312 for N.C. 42.
The three left eastbound lanes are closed as crews work to clear the overturned truck and spilled cargo. Motorists traveling westbound on I-40 past Exit 319 are also being urged to use caution while passing the scene.
The crash is causing delays in the eastbound lanes near Exit 312. Drivers are encouraged to slow down, remain alert and consider allowing extra travel time while the cleanup continues.
No information on injuries has been released.
