Part of I-10 in Louisiana shut down due to stalled semi-truck

LOUISIANA — A stalled semi-truck caused major traffic delays Tuesday morning on Interstate 10 eastbound near the I-610 eastbound split in Metairie.

Officials said the truck was blocking two right lanes near Mile Marker 230, leading to heavy congestion that stretched back to Kenner during the morning commute.

Drivers traveling from Kenner to downtown New Orleans were facing drive times of more than an hour as crews worked to clear the scene.

The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development responded to assist with traffic control and roadway operations.

Motorists were advised to seek alternate routes while the blockage remained in place.
