KENTUCKY — Students were placed on lockdown Tuesday morning after a bomb threat was discovered at Wayne County High School, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Tim Catron said a note containing a bomb threat was found inside a classroom at the school. Investigators believe the note may have been left Monday.

As a precaution, students were moved to the school gymnasium while deputies searched the building.

Authorities said K-9 Deputy Chaos, who is certified in bomb detection, was assisting in the search of the campus.

No injuries were reported, and officials had not announced whether any explosive devices were found as of Tuesday morning.

The investigation remains ongoing.
