FLORIDA — A truck rollover crash late Monday continues to impact traffic Tuesday morning along Florida’s Turnpike in Broward County, authorities said.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash occurred in the northbound lanes at Exit 49 near Hollywood Boulevard and Pines Boulevard. The truck overturned and came to rest off the roadway, with its contents spilling onto the grass below.
Officials said the crash involved injuries, though it was not immediately clear how many people were hurt or the extent of their conditions.
As of Tuesday morning, at least one lane remains closed along with the on-ramp from Hollywood Boulevard while crews work to clear debris and remove the vehicle. The cleanup effort has caused significant delays in the area.
Drivers are being urged to use alternate routes, including U.S. 441 or Interstate 95, to avoid the congestion.
In a separate incident, another crash on the northbound Turnpike before Interstate 595 has also blocked two lanes, adding to traffic delays in the region.
The cause of the rollover crash remains under investigation.
