
GEORGIA — A woman was seriously injured in a shooting early Tuesday morning in LaGrange, and a man is now facing multiple felony charges, according to police.
Officers with the LaGrange Police Department responded to a home on Revis Street near Union Street shortly after 1 a.m. on May 12. When officers arrived, they found 19-year-old Zyasia Sharpe suffering from a gunshot wound.
Emergency crews provided medical aid at the scene before Sharpe was airlifted to an Atlanta-area hospital for treatment. Authorities have not released an update on her condition.
Police said 19-year-old Ja Marcus Hall was still at the home when officers arrived. During the investigation, detectives determined Hall had been in possession of a stolen firearm at the time of the shooting. Investigators later recovered the weapon.
Hall was arrested and charged with aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, tampering with evidence, giving false statements, and theft by receiving stolen property.
Investigators confirmed the firearm involved had been reported stolen. Police have not released a motive in the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing.
