
MICHIGAN — A 17-year-old was shot and a 58-year-old man was taken into custody Tuesday following an altercation on Detroit’s west side, according to police.
The shooting happened in the 9300 block of Pierson Street on May 12.
Detroit police said the incident began as a confrontation between the teenager and the older man before escalating. Investigators said the 58-year-old man shot the teen during the altercation.
The teenager was transported to a Metro Detroit hospital for treatment and was listed in stable condition, police said.
Authorities said the 58-year-old man was taken into custody at the scene. His name has not been released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
