
NORTH CAROLINA — An 18-year-old man is recovering after being injured in a drive-by shooting in Asheboro, according to the Asheboro Police Department.
Police said the shooting happened around 8 p.m. on May 24 while the victim was walking along Watkins Street. Investigators said a bullet was fired from a passing vehicle, striking the victim in the leg.
The victim was transported to a local medical facility by a passerby, officers said.
Authorities said the injuries are not considered life-threatening.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.
