FLORIDA — Police are investigating after an 8-year-old boy was shot inside an apartment Sunday, according to the Casselberry Police Department.
The incident occurred at the Goldelm at Regency Oaks Apartments on Monarch Circle, off State Road 436.
Authorities said the boy was shot in the upper leg while inside an apartment and was taken to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. His condition has not been released.
Police said the shooting was not an accidental discharge or a case of domestic violence. Witnesses reported seeing a vehicle leave the scene shortly after the gunfire.
A separate gunshot victim later arrived at a Centra Care clinic in Orange County, and investigators are working to determine whether that person is connected to the Casselberry shooting.
The investigation remains ongoing.
