One person injured following shooting incident at Georgia McDonald’s

GEORGIA — A large police presence was reported Thursday evening at a McDonald’s in DeKalb County following a shooting.

According to DeKalb County police, officers responded to the restaurant located at the intersection of Wesley Chapel Road and South Hairston Road in unincorporated Decatur after receiving reports of gunfire.

Authorities said a shooting appears to have occurred at the location. One person was injured and transported to a hospital, where they were listed in “moderate stable condition.” The victim was reportedly shot in the chest.

No additional details, including information about a suspect or what led to the shooting, have been released. The investigation remains ongoing.

Police have not said if any arrests have been made.
