VIRGINIA — One person was injured following a multi-vehicle crash Saturday morning at the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel, according to Virginia State Police.
The crash occurred around 9:42 a.m. on April 18 along Interstate 64 westbound. Authorities said a Chevy Avalanche struck a Honda Civic, which was then pushed into a Ford Bronco, resulting in a chain-reaction collision.
The driver of the Honda Civic was transported to a local hospital with injuries. No additional injuries were immediately reported.
The crash caused significant traffic disruptions in the area. At approximately 10:25 a.m., the Virginia Department of Transportation reported that all westbound lanes were closed, with traffic backing up for about five miles. The lanes have since reopened.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
