TENNESSEE — A driver was injured after crashing into a tree early Tuesday morning in Southeast Memphis, according to the Memphis Police Department.
Officers responded to the crash around 5:44 a.m. on Winchester Road near Quince Road.
When police arrived, they found that a driver had struck a large tree that was blocking the roadway.
According to investigators, the driver told officers she did not see the tree before the crash. The impact caused the vehicle’s airbags to deploy.
Police said the woman was injured and transported to a nearby hospital in non-critical condition.
Authorities later issued the driver a citation for failure to maintain a safe lookout.
The crash remains under investigation.
