ILLINOIS — Police in Palatine are investigating after a man who was initially reported as a suspicious person was found dead in a body of water near Twin Lakes Park on Monday evening.
According to police, officers responded at approximately 6:11 p.m. to the 1200 block of East Twin Lakes Drive following reports of a suspicious person in the area.
Authorities said officers attempted to make contact with the man, but he entered a nearby body of water and did not resurface.
Emergency responders later located the man in the water and transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The incident occurred near the popular Twin Lakes Park area in Palatine.
Police have not released the man’s identity or any additional details about the circumstances surrounding the incident. Officials have also not indicated what led to the initial reports of a suspicious person.
The investigation remains ongoing. No further information was immediately available.
