TEXAS — A man in his 20s was found dead Thursday night following a shooting at an apartment complex in Humble, and a 17-year-old girl has been arrested in connection with the case, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to an apartment complex on Woodland Hills Drive, where they found an unresponsive man suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel pronounced him dead at the scene.
Investigators said witnesses reported hearing a man and a woman arguing shortly before gunshots were fired. Witnesses also reported seeing a dark-colored vehicle leave the area after the shooting.
While deputies were processing the crime scene, a 17-year-old female returned to the apartment complex in a dark vehicle and told investigators she was present when the victim was shot.
Authorities believe the teen was involved in the shooting. Officials said the victim and the suspect were in a dating relationship, but neither lived at the apartment complex where the incident occurred.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. Authorities have not said how many shots were fired, and the firearm used in the shooting has not been recovered.
The victim’s identity has not been released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
