
TENNESSEE — An active-duty soldier stationed at Fort Campbell was killed Thursday evening in a motorcycle crash involving an SUV in Clarksville, according to police.
The crash happened around 6:30 p.m. on Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway near Rufus Johnson Road.
Clarksville police said the motorcyclist died while being transported to a hospital following the collision.
The driver of the SUV was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency crews. Police said her injuries were not considered life-threatening.
Authorities have not released the identity of the soldier. Police said the name is being withheld until next-of-kin notifications have been completed.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
