FLORIDA — Tampa police are investigating after a man was found dead in a retention pond near International Plaza early Monday morning.
According to the Tampa Police Department, officers responded to the 2200 block of North Westshore Boulevard just before 8 a.m. following a report of a body in the water.
The Tampa Police Dive Team recovered the body of an adult Black male from the pond.
Authorities said detectives are working to identify the man and notify his family. The Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the official cause of death.
The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional details have been released.
