
SOUTH CAROLINA — A man was arrested after deputies said he entered a rideshare vehicle while under the influence and in possession of a firearm.
According to the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to Murray Avenue after an Uber driver contacted 911 requesting assistance.
When deputies arrived, they found 34-year-old Hykeem Kirkland in the back seat of the vehicle. Authorities said Kirkland was in possession of at least 8 grams of cocaine and approximately 9 ounces of methamphetamine.
Kirkland was taken into custody and booked into the Anderson County Detention Center. He faces charges of drug trafficking and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
The incident remains under investigation.
