One person found dead in North Carolina, investigation underway

NORTH CAROLINA — Authorities are investigating after a person was found dead in south Charlotte on Friday morning, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

Police said the discovery was made along Shady Oak Trail, near the intersection of Sharon Lakes Road and South Boulevard. Officers responded to the scene and have since launched a death investigation.

At this time, officials have not released the identity of the deceased or provided details on how the person died. Investigators have also not said whether foul play is suspected.

No arrests have been announced, and it remains unclear if detectives are searching for any persons of interest in connection with the case.
