
OHIO — Authorities are investigating after a woman was found dead Tuesday morning at a rest area along U.S. 30 in Richland County.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, troopers responded to the eastbound U.S. 30 rest area near Mansfield at approximately 6:15 a.m. on June 9.
When troopers arrived, they found a woman unresponsive and lying next to her vehicle. The woman was identified as 40-year-old Cassandra Johnson of Mansfield.
Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said the cause of death remains under investigation. However, officials stated that foul play is not currently suspected.
No additional information has been released as the investigation continues. Troopers have not said how long Johnson may have been at the rest area before she was discovered.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
