
NORTH CAROLINA — A 14-year-old girl was killed and two adults are facing charges after a crash in Montgomery County, according to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash happened just before 8 p.m. on June 5 on Moccasin Creek Road near Deep Water Trail.
Investigators determined a white Lexus was traveling west when it lost control, ran off the roadway and overturned. Authorities said the vehicle was being driven by a 14-year-old girl.
A 14-year-old passenger, identified as Kinsley Seay, was not wearing a seat belt and suffered fatal injuries in the crash, according to troopers.
Also inside the SUV were Melissa Tonn, who was seated in the front passenger seat, Travis Tonn, who was riding in the back seat, and an 8-year-old child.
State Highway Patrol said both Melissa Tonn and Travis Tonn were allegedly intoxicated at the time of the crash and were arrested at the scene.
Authorities charged both adults with three counts of felony child endangerment, felony manslaughter and impaired supervision.
The crash remains under investigation by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol. No additional information has been released.
