
ALABAMA — One person was killed and two others were hospitalized following a single-vehicle crash in Perry County on Saturday afternoon, authorities said.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the crash happened around 3 p.m. on Alabama State Route 219 near mile marker 12, about eight miles north of Valley Grande.
State troopers said a vehicle left the roadway, struck a culvert and overturned.
Authorities identified the victim as 68-year-old Robert L. Perkins, who was riding as a passenger in the vehicle. Perkins was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
The driver and another passenger were injured in the crash and transported to a hospital in Selma for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation by ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division.
