
SOUTH CAROLINA — One person was killed and another was hospitalized following a single-vehicle crash late Tuesday night in Georgetown County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The crash happened around 11:50 p.m. on Harris Landing Road near Earl Road, authorities said.
Troopers reported that a vehicle traveling east ran off the roadway and struck a ditch, a culvert and a tree. Two people were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.
The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries. Officials have not released the identity of the passenger.
