
VIRGINIA — A 25-year-old man died following a wrong-way crash in Accomack County on Friday night, according to Virginia State Police.
Police said the crash happened at approximately 10:17 p.m. on Route 175 Chincoteague Causeway. Investigators said a 2000 Ford Explorer was traveling in the wrong direction in the westbound lane when it collided with a 2014 Toyota Camry.
Following the collision, the Ford Explorer went over a jersey wall and into a marsh, according to police.
The driver of the Ford, identified as Tyler W. Crockett, 25, of New Church, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Toyota Camry was not seriously injured, police said.
Virginia State Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
