OHIO — A 68-year-old woman from Fremont died Tuesday night following a wrong-way crash on U.S. Route 20, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred shortly after 9:30 p.m. near Township Road 214 in Green Creek Township. Authorities said Janet Hirt was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic westbound in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 20 when her vehicle collided head-on with a 2014 Dodge Dart driven by a 32-year-old Fremont man.
Hirt was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Troopers said the crash remains under investigation.
