KANSAS — A man was killed Thursday evening in a single-vehicle crash involving a semitrailer on Interstate 70, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported at approximately 6:15 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-70, about two miles east of Milford Lake Road and roughly two miles west of Junction City.
Authorities said a 2026 International semitrailer was traveling westbound when it left the roadway to the right, entered the north ditch, then re-entered the roadway before overturning.
The vehicle came to rest on its top, facing east on the left shoulder of the westbound lanes.
The driver, identified as Christopher Robert Poare, 41, of Wichita, was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers said he was the only occupant of the vehicle and was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The incident remains under investigation by the Kansas Highway Patrol.
