TENNESSEE — A man was killed and several other people were injured in a crash that shut down Interstate 24 West for several hours overnight in Nashville, according to authorities.
The crash was reported around 10:24 p.m. Monday near mile marker 38.8 by the Old Hickory Boulevard exit in the Whites Creek area, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
Police said the crash involved an overturned vehicle. Multiple people were hurt, and one man later died from his injuries.
Interstate 24 West was fully closed for several hours while crews responded and investigated the crash. Officials later reopened the left lane, but the right lane and shoulder remained closed Tuesday morning.
No additional information about the victims or what led to the crash was immediately released. Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing.
