TENNESSEE — A fatal crash early Wednesday morning has shut down several roads near Smyrna High School, according to local authorities.
Police say the crash occurred just before 5 a.m. along Lee Victory Parkway. Investigators reported that the driver of a pickup truck lost control of the vehicle and crashed into two utility poles.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, officials confirmed. No other injuries were immediately reported.
As a result of the crash, multiple road closures are in place. McWilliams Drive and the westbound lanes of Nissan Drive have been shut down at Bulldog Drive. Traffic is also limited on Lee Victory Parkway, where only one lane remains open.
Authorities are urging drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes while crews continue their investigation and work to clear the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
