
OHIO — One person is dead following a crash involving a scooter and a vehicle in Cincinnati’s Hyde Park neighborhood late Friday morning.
According to police, the crash occurred around 10:30 a.m. near the intersection of Erie Avenue and Pinehurst Avenue. Authorities said a Vespa scooter collided with a moving vehicle, resulting in fatal injuries to the scooter operator.
The victim, identified only as a 26-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
The crash prompted a significant police response and led to the temporary closure of the roadway as officers conducted their investigation.
Cincinnati’s Traffic Unit is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Police indicated that the road would remain closed for approximately an hour following the incident.
