
MARYLAND — A fatal crash involving a Ride On bus and a passenger vehicle shut down multiple roads in Montgomery County early Friday morning, authorities said.
Police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service crews responded to the scene around 4:47 a.m. near the intersection of Mid County Highway and Goshen Road.
Officials said the crash involved a county-operated Ride On bus and a single passenger vehicle. The driver of the bus remained at the scene, and authorities confirmed that no passengers were on board at the time of the collision.
The crash resulted in at least one fatality, though officials have not yet released the identity of the victim.
Road closures were put in place shortly after the incident. As of early Friday morning, Mid County Highway was closed at Goshen Road, and Goshen Road was shut down at Emory Grove Road. Drivers were urged to avoid the area and expect significant delays.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
