
TEXAS — One person was killed in a crash involving a motorcycle and a vehicle early Thursday morning in Austin, according to police.
The Austin Police Department said officers responded to the scene of the fatal crash around 1 a.m. near the 9300 block of East U.S. Highway 290, just east of Springdale Road.
Authorities said the collision involved a motorcycle and a vehicle. One person died as a result of the crash. Police did not immediately release the identity of the victim.
Investigators said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene following the collision.
The roadway was temporarily closed while officers investigated. Police reported around 4:30 a.m. that the closure was expected to last about another hour, and the roadway had reopened by approximately 6 a.m.
No additional details about the circumstances leading up to the crash were immediately available.
The investigation remains ongoing.
