One person dead following vehicle crash in Tennessee

TENNESSEE — A 52-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash early Thursday morning in Greeneville, according to the Greeneville Police Department.

Police said the crash occurred at approximately 5:48 a.m. at the intersection of West Andrew Johnson Highway and Mount Pleasant Drive.

The driver of a 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck, identified as Paul D. Oaks, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Greeneville police said the crash involved two vehicles, but additional details about the circumstances surrounding the collision were not immediately released.

Greeneville Fire Department, Greeneville-Greene County EMS and the Greeneville Emergency Rescue Squad responded to the scene.

Authorities said more information about the crash is expected to be released Friday morning.

The incident remains under investigation.
