SOUTH CAROLINA — A 16-year-old was killed and two other teenagers were injured in a crash early Monday morning in Anderson County, according to officials.
The crash happened just before 12:30 a.m. on Five Forks Road near Pearman Drive, according to Anderson County 911.
Officials said a 2014 BMW sedan was coming out of a curve when it went off the right side of the road, struck a mailbox and a ditch, then crashed into a tree.
The Anderson County Coroner’s Office identified the teen who died as Spencer James Martin of Anderson. Investigators said Martin was a front-seat passenger in the vehicle.
Two other teenagers were taken to the hospital with injuries. Their conditions were not released.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash with assistance from the Piercetown Fire Department and the Anderson County Coroner’s Office.
