SOUTH CAROLINA — Police and emergency crews are on the scene of a deadly crash Wednesday morning in Greer that has forced the closure of several lanes along a major roadway.
According to the Greer Police Department, the crash happened at the intersection of West Wade Hampton Boulevard and North Main Street.
Authorities said all westbound lanes on West Wade Hampton Boulevard at North Main Street were closed as of about 10:30 a.m. Traffic is being diverted north onto North Main Street while crews investigate the crash and clear the scene.
Few details about the crash have been released, including how many vehicles were involved or the identity of the person killed.
Motorists are being asked to avoid the area and seek alternate routes as the investigation continues.
